When selling a passenger vehicle abroad, the Declaration of Type Approval Data is often requested upon registration there. This declaration serves as a supplement to the registration certificate. You can find the VTG document directly after the transaction as a PDF in your mailbox.

In order to provide your car without a (valid) Dutch license plate with a (new) valid license plate, the vehicle must be presented at an RDW inspection station. This can be done via transport, but driving yourself is also possible. You will then need a one-day license plate certificate.
